Appointment Underlines Swellfix's Development Plans
ABERDEEN, Scotland – Dec. 7, 2007 -- Swellfix B.V., a global leader in swellable elastomers for zonal isolation, announced today that Pascal Blanchard has joined the Company as its Vice President, Africa.
Blanchard takes on the role of Swellfix and brings with him 27 years of industry experience. He will be based in Paris and at the Company’s offices in Port Harcourt, Nigeria to drive Swellfix’s regional sales focus and target the key markets of West and North Africa.
Swellfix, which provides a range of zonal isolation, Cement Protection™ and other swellable elastomer applications for the oil and gas industry, was incorporated in 2006.
Pascal as a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Amiens, in France and he entered the oil and gas industry in 1980. He has held a number of senior positions in Africa and Europe and prior to joining Swellfix, Pascal was global business alignment manager for Weatherford International. In his last position he was responsible for the coordination of Weatherford’s worldwide business relationship with Total. Preceding that he was Weatherford’s regional manager for Southern Europe and Africa.

“By utilising my understanding of the African market and network of contacts I will be able to ensure Swellfix develops a significant presence in the continent’s oil and gas producing regions.”
Pascal Blanchard:
A native of France, Blanchard graduated from Amiens University, France with a BSC in Mechanical engineering.
Prior to joining Swellfix, Blanchard was Global Business Alignment Manager for Weatherford International Ltd in Senlis, France. Preceding that role, he was Southern Europe and Africa Region manager for Weatherford Completion and Production Systems Division.
Prior to Weatherford, Blanchard was with ELF for several years holding various senior positions in Nigeria, Scotland and France.
